Guarantor loans - it's becoming a lot more of a necessity in today's society with the essentials like house and cars priced out of most people's budgets. Generally when looking at a guarantor loan for a home the loan guarantor would be the person's parents. Obviously wanting to get a loan for the deposit is a sizable investment, so it is only right that the banks will want someone who is trustworthy and has a good credit score history behind them.

Obviously possessing a guarantor loan with your parents is probably a wise move as you'll be less likely to let your parents down purely from the fact that you know that they will be the individuals that will stand by you through the years. Also, they are the individuals who will most likely be more to your benefit if you did hit a rough patch in the payment program.

Are they good at managing their money? Do they have any other commitments?

Even if you have considered the suggestions above there is still no way to guarantee that you won't get hold of burned when signing on to be a guarantor. The only thing you can do is protect yourself to the best of your abilities and try to stay in contact regularly with who owns the debt.

While a number of people still live their lives without the simple luxuries in life, others feast on the excesses. There's nothing wrong with a balanced view on spending, but if you have obtained a damaging credit history history because you can't afford the things you are purchasing; maybe it is time to reconsider your lifestyle.
